Rory Bremner headlines a four-act Comedy Buoys night at Seckford Theatre, Woodbridge, on Saturday 10 October: doors 6pm, show 7pm, tickets £29.27.
Rory Bremner is headlining a four-act comedy night at Seckford Theatre in Woodbridge on Saturday 10 October, promoted by Comedy Buoys, the East Anglian comedy promoter.
According to the Comedy Buoys listings, doors open at 6pm and the show starts at 7pm. The Seckford Theatre event page prices tickets at £29.27 including the booking fee, and says the evening runs with two intervals. The box office is on 01394 615042.
Who is on the bill
Four comedians are booked, according to the press notice Comedy Buoys sent us:
- Rory Bremner, headlining. The promoter calls him “one of Britain’s best-known impressionists and satirists”, best known for the long-running Channel 4 series Bremner, Bird and Fortune, and lists appearances on Have I Got News For You, Mock the Week, Whose Line Is It Anyway? and Spitting Image. Comedy Buoys says his career has included three BAFTA awards for Bremner, Bird and Fortune, “alongside decades of television, radio and live work built around impressions, topical comedy and satire.”
- Noel James, the Welsh comedian, whose “wonderfully offbeat mixture of one-liners, wordplay and surreal comedy took him to the live semi-finals of Britain’s Got Talent in 2018”, in the promoter’s words.
- Stevie Gray, described as “a high-energy stand-up who mixes crowd interaction, comedy and music.”
- Darius Davies, hosting, “an experienced club comedian and MC known for quick crowd work and an energetic style.”
The theatre’s own page adds that “these Woodbridge shows regularly sell out” and advises booking early.
WCB Comedy is now Comedy Buoys
If you have been to one of these nights before, you may know the promoter under its old name. Its website says WCB Comedy Ltd is now trading as Comedy Buoys, and the Seckford Theatre still lists this show as “WCB Comedy with Headliner Rory Bremner”, so either name will find it.
Comedy Buoys runs shows at theatres across East Anglia. Previous headliners, it says, include Ed Byrne, Milton Jones, Russell Kane, Paul Sinha, Shappi Khorsandi and Reginald D Hunter.
The next Woodbridge night
The promoter’s listings already carry the next one: Saturday 7 November at Woodbridge, with Geoff Norcott headlining alongside Keith Farnan, Jack Skipper and MC Justin Panks, doors 7.30pm and show 8.30pm. Southwold has the same headliner and acts that night, with Harry Pettitt as MC, doors 6pm and show 7pm (Comedy Buoys).
